Meet Some of the Great Ingredients We Use!

I’d like you to meet some of the great ingredients we use in our handmade Pamper Moose bath and beauty products. These are my fab staples that bring such goodness to your skin and hair:

Cocoa Butter (INCI name Theobroma cacao seed butter)

Cocoa butter is extracted from the roasted seeds of the cacao plant. It has been used in medicine for over 3000 years by the Aztecs and Mayans.

Cocoa butter is high in fatty acids which help to hydrate the skin. The fat in cocoa butter creates a protective barrier that holds in moisture and prevents the skin from drying. Cocoa butter is rich in natural plant compounds called phytochemicals. These substances may improve blood flow to the skin and slow skin aging by protecting from the sun’s harmful rays.

Shea Butter (INCI name Butyrospermum Parkii seed butter)

Shea butter is high in fatty acids and vitamins, which makes this butter ideal for softening the skin. It also has anti-inflammatory properties which can help to soothe the skin. Shea butter helps to improve tone, soften and plump the skin. Shea butter can add moisture, shine and anti – frizz properties to the hair.

Coconut Oil (INCI name Cocos Nucifera seed butter)

Coconut oil is an extremely versatile beauty product that is rich in fatty acids and anti-oxidants that help prevent aging and damage to skin and hair. It also has anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties that help to keep the skin healthy and fight skin allergies that can cause rashes and dermatitis. Coconut oil is also a great conditioning oil for the skin, it works by preventing protein loss in the hair, which prevents breakage and thinning of the hair shaft.

Mango Butter (INCI name Mangifera indica seed butter)

Mango butter is made by extracting the contents of the mango seed and cold pressing it into a creamy butter. Mango butter’s long lasting emollience nourishes skin and boosts its elasticity as well as suppleness thereby making skin look smoother and firmer. It is packed with anti-oxidants that are effective in preventing inflammation and itching caused by dry skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis. When used in hair, mango butter seals in moisture and reduces breakage and hair loss by strengthening hair follicles, thereby encouraging the growth of stronger, healthier hair.

Apricot Kernel Oil (INCI name Prunus Armeniaca)

Apricot kernel oil is extracted from the seeds of apricots by a cold pressed method. Apricot kernel oil has been used for centuries by aromatherapists due to its skin conditioning properties. Apricot kernel oil also closely resembles the skin’s natural sebum so it makes it an excellent choice for skin and haircare products. It is high in essential unsaturated fatty acids and Omega 3, 6 & 9, which are known for their nourishing, moisturising and antioxidant properties. It also contains phytosterols which can improve the elasticity and firmness of the skin.

I also use some more unusual oils, which have great properties for the skin and hair. Here are a few of them:

Baobab Oil (INCI name Adansonia digitata seed oil)

Baobab oil comes from the tree of the same name, which has also been known as the ‘tree of life’. Baobab is one of the few natural oils that contain Omega 3,6 & 9, which are great for hair because they act as moisture retention agents.

Because Baobab oil is great for dry skin, it also helps to prevent dandruff and an itchy scalp. The nutrients in Baobab oil are all known to trigger hair growth even in a bald head. In addition Baobab oil contains high levels of vitamin C which helps make hair look radiant and lustrous.

Sea Buckthorn Oil (INCI name Hippophae Rhamnoides Oil)

Sea Buckthorn oil comes from the bright orange berries of the Sea Buckthorn plant that grows in the Himalayan region. It has been used for thousands of years as a natural remedy for various ailments.

Sea Buckthorn oil is packed with great ingredients; vitamin A,C,B1,B2, B6 & E. It also contains Omega 3,6,9, and the rarest Omega 7. These nutrients have huge benefits for skin and hair. It can help restore elasticity, prevent dryness, inhibits hair loss and strengthens hair fibres.

These are just some of the great ingredients we use in our handmade Pamper Moose bath and beauty products. I hope you found this interesting! You can find out more about our ethos here.
